I need your advice.

Dress: Vintage from Old Street; Belt & Shoes: Mr Price;
Stockings: Woolworths; Bag: Sowearto

Old Street gifted me this dress a while ago and now that the weather's cooler, I could finally wear it. I'm not sure about the white collar - I think this dress may get out more if I removed it completely. I feel like its character will disappear, but it would also become a more versatile piece. What do you think? Should I have the white collar removed?

My [very good] leaders. 

My husband, who's been especially generous.

New shoes. Thanks to the aforementioned generosity of the Hubby.

My parents. 

Speaking of parents. I'm thankful for the Sunday spread mom laid out this weekend (I love your food Ma.).

My sisters (thanks brothers for bringing them).

The Tailor, for that Vintage tweed suit that needs some work.

A washing machine - had a few hefty loads to get through yesterday!

Ready made roti (made my curry all the more tasty).

Hair serum. These fly-aways have to be controlled people. 

A God who never sleeps; thank You Lord for answered prayers.

This [New] Thing

Went to a Press Launch this morning and took some pictures afterwards. 

I told you about these pants, here. The bag's new. I love that I have a new go-to bag, to give this one some rest.

I've found that playing around with a cardigan instantly gives life to a boring outfit. Try belting it, wearing it back to front, tucking it in - anything really.

...we should all let go of our insecurities and ideas of what is right and wrong in fashion and just have fun with it. ...even if this doesn't match that... it's OKAY and wear it anyway. If you don't like it, learn to love the person in it more instead of letting your clothes define you.

Thankful Tuesday

(Things I'm thankful for.)

A job. I'm blessed to have one.

Clean, running water.

Electricity. I have the luxury of a warm bath and an electric blanket.

"Leisure time." Many cannot afford to spend a single minute in nothingness.

Food in the fridge.

TV. It's not a basic right folks.

The internet. I've learned so much.

The ability to read, and write. I cannot imagine life without this [not so] basic skill.

Ideas. Thank God for inquiring minds.

These boots I'm in. And all my other pretty shoes. Many go without.

My car. I should treat her right. Could start by keeping her clean.

Freedom of expression. And this blog ;)

My church. And the freedom to go there.

Memory. It's such a great place to go to.
My senses. The world is so alive, I'm blessed to be able to take it all in.

Parents that are still alive, and married to each other.

Family. Crazy and all.

Friends.

A house. A home.

A good, God fearing husband. I trust him with my life.

Tuck that Jersey In

Winter really showed up this morning, testing my creativity in the wardrobe department. I don't like Winter very much, especially in the wardrobe department. I never know what to wear - cold mornings usually go like this: "is it warm? perfect."

But thanks to the blogosphere (and now, Pinterest), I'm feeling a little more inspired - and learning that jerseys can be taken out for show too, you can even tuck it in! It helps when you add some oomph to aforementioned jersey, with a trendy collar necklace. 

I really should not step into another Sass Diva for a while; my statement necklace collection has grown from zero to I-might-need-more-hooks-on-this-wardrobe-door in no time!

Husband's shirt has been quite the staple. It's especially great on days that you are too late to iron anything, the sweater too. I had one of those mornings. Nonetheless, it's Friday. It's the weekend! 

By the way, is this clutch amazing or what?! I love that it adds just the right amount of pop to an otherwise dull outfit.

Mind the sun spots - that's what I get for taking pictures in the afternoon. Call it Art, shall we?
