Awkward & Awesome Wednesday

Dress: Pure; Shoes: Cotton On; Bag: Sowearto; Necklace: Mr Price; Sunglasses: Woolworths

Awkward:
- There was this strange man in a restaurant, and he touched my bump, with both hands, in a tickling motion. It was awkward, and I felt violated.
- The sight of me, indulging in 7 (okay, probably more) pieces of cake. That sounds terrible. The pieces were small guys.
- Still having to talk myself through brushing my teeth every morning. No. No. No. That's the typical conversation when I suspect morning sickness wants to make a comeback.
- The urge to sleep halfway through every meal. Every meal. Ridiculous.
- Leg pains, so I stand on my tip toes the way I would in heels. Flats cause legs pains, I'm sure.
- My colleague laughing at me and my growing belly every morning. Okay.
- How I think getting up (which cause slight ab crunches) could hurt Baby. It can't, right?

Awesome:
- Those 7+ pieces of cake.
- The crumbed mushroom chicken was pretty good too.
- Crunchy. It's the only chocolate I'll accept these days.
- This bag. It's still my fave.
- Mr Price's selection of statement necklaces. Impossible to resist.
- This dress, which will be my best friend for the next few months. I knew you'd be good, old faithful.
- Home-made chicken salad.
- Husband. And all the other really disciplined people I know. I didn't get that trait.
- A friend. For saying my face is still in tact (when I fear my nose is threatening expansion).

Thanks for these pictures, Lerato.

Thanks for coming by! Have an awesome, um, afternoon.

It's a Wrap

Skirt: YDE; Wrap Top: Pure; Shoes: Woolworths
Bag: ALDO; Collar: Sass Diva; Earrings: Mr Price

Anything wrap is a staple for a baby bump. When buttons can't be done and zips won't go up, wraps are the answer. I was particular appreciative of this wrap this morning, when time wouldn't allow that I try on a dozen things before dashing out the door.

Thanks to Lerato, who brrrrred her way through taking these pictures :)

Thank you for coming by. Have a great week!

Quirk or Kook?

Skirt: Pure; Top, Shoes & Bag: Mr Price; Trench: Burberry
Necklace: Sass Diva; Sunglasses: China Town

As always, I wanted to be casual for the sake of Friday. Since I'm running out of pants to wear, I pulled up this stretch skirt by Pure, and just threw on everything else. I don't know how to describe the end result - I was hoping for more quirk than kook. I'm undecided.

Thanks to Lerato for these pictures.
Thank you for coming by.
Have a great weekend!

A face He always knew

Skirt: Pure; Shirt: Vintage via Old Street; Trench Vest/Dress: Karen Millen;
Shoes: Rage; Bag: Sowearto; Necklace: Sass Diva; Nail Polish: Essie's Mint Candy Apple

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.”
Jeremiah 1:5

This has always been Husband's favourite scripture, and it's so amazing. God tells Jeremiah, a great prophet, how his existence was intended by God. How awesome that God plans your destiny before you're even born, before you are conceived?! How amazing, when doctors call you a fetus - He knows your name. Never forget it. You can count on this when you need reminding of your worth, and when it seems God has forgotten you. He knows your name, and He knows your every heart's desire - let Him work His plan.

Thank you Lord for this precious person, and all the plans You have in store.

Thanks for these pictures, Lerato.

Awkward & Awesome Wednesday

Dress: Fashion Express; Blazer: Identity; Shoes: ALDO; Bag: Sowearto; Necklace: Mr Price; Sunglasses: Woolworths

Awkward:
- Me, dancing. It's only getting worse.
- My belly button officially popping. We should have a coming out party, or something.
- McDonald's fries without the saltiness. Sad really.
- The looks I got when trying to eat my watermelon in peace yesterday. Yes, it was more than my plate could fit - so?
- A breeze. A flared skirt. Again.
- Am I the only one who thinks my belly's expanding at a rapid pace now? I mean, it's a pretty awkward ball.
- A secret whisper, "you're starting to show now, hey?"
- The smell of boiled eggs in the office, i.e. my lunch. Sorry.
- Baby, someone just called you a quack. Quack?

Awesome:
- Checking up on Baby tomorrow! I get excited every time.
- Tummy watching each night and seeing how Baby's poking and elbowing.
- This outfit. I'm going to skimp on the modesty because I love it.
- This high bun (on my head). Turned out alright, almost as if it wasn't just an afterthought due to hair that needs a wash.
- This statement necklace. I love it so much.
- Pastel nail polish. It's refreshing.
- Pinterest. I've been in stalk mode lately.
- Steers' chips, with 1000 Islands sauce. Delish.
- Laugh buddies.
- Music. Yes, I've betrayed 702 lately but it's been soooo good.

Thanks for these pictures Lerato - you're awesome!

[Things I'm thankful for.]
A God that is still in charge, even when things seem to be going crazy.
Power steering. It's back and it's awesome.
Watermelon.
Creativity. Yes, I'm wearing this shirt back-to-front and I like it.
A future. A good one, too.
Inspiration. Double blessing that it's everywhere.
A 23 week baby bump.
And a baby that is really dancing now.
Husband's priceless grin as he stares at my moving belly. Yup, someone's in there.
Books, even when all I want to do is look at the pictures.
My sis-in-law, Lisle - she's a good host :)
Joy.

Thanks to Lerato for these pictures.

I bet there's lots you can be thankful for too.

Stepford Wife

Dress: Pure; Blazer: Zara; Shoes: Gifted; Bag: ALDO; Necklace and Pearl Ring: Sass Diva

The dress. The floral blazer. The heel. The pearls. The bump. They all add up and then you get, a Stepford
Wife
. It was not my intention this morning. It's Monday, so my only intention was to grab anything - anything that fits, these days. It started with the dress, then just evolved into this lady. But I wouldn't be allowed into the Stepford clan... I mean, we're having leftovers for supper tonight (gasp!).

Loving my 23 week bump

Thank you to Lerato for these pictures.

Thanks for coming by. Here's to a great week!

Awkward & Awesome Wednesday

Dress: Pure; Blazer: Identity; Shoes & Sunglasses: Woolworths;
Bag: Sowearto; Necklace: Sass Diva; Earrings: Mr Price

Awkward:
- "...it's shiny and big, just like your stomach." Gee, thanks.
- Thinning eyelashes. I thought I was imagining it, but then the internet said it happens. I wish I could say this is one of those internet lies, but I'm proof people. Thinning. Eyelashes.
- Being stuck in traffic, with a winking old man stuck next to me.
- Trying to squeeze the bump into two gorgeous dresses I just got from Old Street, and actually thinking that it's not that bad. The things we tell ourselves.
- My power steering bailing on me mid-turn this morning. Really? You had to do that as I'm turning?
- Finding a good sitting position for backache. Not a pretty picture.

Awesome:
- These cat-eye sunglasses! I've been searching for a pair I like, forever!
- This beautiful statement necklace I got at Mr Price yesterday.
- Finding a sweet you didn't know you had. Let's hope it's still good to eat because, I ate it.
- Finding money you didn't know you had. That would be really awesome if it actually happened this week.
- A wors roll
- Finally getting my hair out of a bun. Husband says he likes me better now. Is that awkward?
- Dresses. They'll make this list every week, I'm sure.
 - A growing bump = a growing baby!

Thanks to Lerato for these pictures.

Thanks for coming by, have an awesome day!
