The blogosphere helps us practice a life 'do': give compliments.

I'm one of those readers who almost always comment on posts (I say almost because some comment programs just aren't very friendly!). I look at the post, and find at least one thing I really like, just like 'real life'.

So, in all your face-to-face interactions today, and every day thereafter, find one thing to compliment another about, sweet words go a long way.

I've had this shirt for a while now and this is the first time I wear it, despite trying a few outfit scenarios.

On a more weighty topic, pun intended: the issue of plus-size models. I've started reading the features in the latest SA Elle magazine. I'm glad Elle went there. Without going into what the articles say, because you've got to read it for yourself, I'd like to add that I'd really like to see the industry embrace plus-size models. It's true that plus-size women are sexy and alluring, but are you - the industy - putting your money where your mouth is? The fact that there's a "plus-size" category speaks for itself. I've yet to find a runway, or magazine, and all other media for that matter, that has equally embraced plus-size models. I'd like to see it. It's nice to see a woman embrace her body, even if it is a size 14. In fact, perhaps especially if it's a size 14.

This outfit is a bit of a juxtaposition for me. That slouchy man pants and shoes, with this pretty girly top and accessories. The dusty pink colour of this shirt is so feminine. It's definitely been my favorite colour lately. When I go for this colour, and coral, the husband says that's the only colour I see. I love it.

This weekend my good friends Robyn and Darryn got married. The wedding was lovely. Wishing you joy beyond expression friends!

To note Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I'm posting this pop of pink.

It's also in honour of those close to me who have kicked cancer's butt, and in support of Giuliana Rancic (Giuliana & Bill is my tellie indulgence!) who announced this week that she has breast cancer.

In South Africa alone, stats say that 1 in every 29 women will be diagnosed with breast cancer. But early detection gives an excellent chance of recovery. See the charts below, and learn how to examine your breasts regularly. Go for check ups too. Look after your body, it's the only one you've got.
