Family Love Part Two

At Christmas time I shared a recent picture of my dad and I.

This picture is one of my mom and I, though not so recent.

I adore my mother, she cares for everyone - but herself last. I hope that I will become nearly as kind and thoughtful as her.

Let that be one of my goals this year, to be a person of good quality.

Happy New Year everyone - may the best version of yourself surface this year and always.

Thank you for reading today, and all year long! Here's to a great 2012!

A short Holiday

I feel more 'allowed' to wear short dresses/skirts/shorts when on holiday.

This shorts, from Amber Jones at Mr Price, is very pretty with its ballerina frill and button up detail. And it's in my new best shade too - mint.

The top is from Pure.

This picture was quickly taken somewhere between Hazyview and White River, after a lengthy drive through Kruger National Park. It's so beautiful here, I wish we could always be on holiday!

Have an awesome weekend!

p.s excuse the quality of this picture!

Husband on Holiday

This is the husband's holiday style. I like it, a lot ;)

I like it so much, that I dedicated this entire post to Husband.

We're chilling today, taking in the scenery; might catch a movie - Mission Impossible, the one about ghosts haha

Thank you for coming by, have a lovely day.

Holiday Hotness

Dress: Pure; Bag: Sowearto; Hat: China Town;
Shoes & Bangles: Gifted; Watch: ALDO

I love dressing for Summer, especially during the holidays. Bare shoulders and hats, and and and...
It's particularly appropriate in Mpumalanga because it's so hot!

We spent the day browsing and shopping, and browsing some more - it's the best when you really have nothing but nothing to do. I love the holidays!

Thank you for taking these pictures Husband - with my new camera
(thank you for that too Honey!)

Happy Birthday Verna!

It's my darling friend, Verna's birthday today. I'm blessed to call her friend, she's a good example of the woman I'd like to be.

Happy Birthday Vern! God's best for your life today and always. Have a fantastic day, see you soon! Love you.

The Long Road

Hubster and I are hitting the long road, on the way to beautiful Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.
Christmas day was filled with family, food, prezzies and lots of laughter! I hope you had a wonderful day.
We're looking forward to some chill time; it's always good to get away from the hustle and bustle of Jo'burg!
If you're doing something special, be safe and have fun!

Merry Christmas!

The Husband and I are up, and it's minutes before 12PM in South Africa. We're waiting for Christmas ;) a tradition I grew up with.

I took this picture, of our little tree, with my phone real quick, to wish you all an awesome Christmas!

I'm most grateful for Jesus, who God gave so that you and I may have life - in abundance, and for eternity. I owe my life to you Jesus, I love you.

Family Time: Part 1

It's nearly Christmas - a time for loved ones, especially family - so I thought I'd talk about family over the next few posts.

I love this time of year! I look forward to my dad's eyes lighting up like a little boy's as he opens his gifts.
He always makes us laugh, and this time of year is no different.

That said, and me now revved up for Christmas day, this is a recent picture of my De and I. Precious.

Thanks for coming by.

MaTumza

The self proclaimed Tomboy is a lady, see. I love this look for many reasons - the colour block, the yellow of her nails, the pleats. Lots.(More of this outfit and others on http://www.matumzapicblog.blogspot.com/)

Make Someone Smile

I nearly didn't blog today. But finally, at 21:50, I'm sitting down to share something with you.

Today the Mr Price Giveaway Johannesburg winner and I went shopping. The Husband was a special kinda gem; I watched him treat her like a lady: he 'sponsored' her hair treat, bought her flowers, opened doors, and just treated her in-between - as he does me all the time.

Anyway, Margaret was so thrilled to go shopping at Mr Price. Her niece, Chanelle, won the gift and (without hesitation) gave it to her. She is one-of-a-kind, Chanelle said. "She's always the last person she thinks about."

She is a stay-at-home mother of three. I could tell that her children have always been her number one priority, but today was her turn. As the day continued, her eyes lit up more and more - like a child at his first Christmas. By the end, I was pleased - we had been a part of a really small gesture that meant the world to her. I was also sad: we don't do it often enough. Lesson learned.

We don't live for ourselves: we have so many around us, and I believe that it is part of our very purpose to try to make others smile.

For those of you that come by for pictures, the snapshots we took today are stuck on my camera - and without a way to get it off from there and onto here right now, I'll just promise to show you soon. Here is a picture, though, of a dress by Pure that I modelled at the fashion show a few weeks ago. It was for a charity auction and the lady that bought it told me to keep it on (in other words, it's in my closet now).

It made me smile.

Old Street

Jeans: (old) Legit
T-Shirt: Piccidilly
Lightweight Jacket: Old Street
Shoes: Mr Price
Bag & Watch: Aldo
Other Jewelry: Gifted

Adore this jacket! The colours first attracted me - now its shape (especially the oversized sleeves) has me hooked!

Old Street Vintage and Retro Clothing always have fun pieces like this. This jacket came in my first package from them, and I cannot decide which I love more: there's an awesome double breasted floral blazer and maxi dress in the mix. Competition is tough!

Today I go on leave from work. I'm really looking forward to this break! I'm going to blog as often as I can, but let me tell you now:

Thank you for always reading, and encouraging me. Every sweet note you leave makes me smile.

Have a great Christmas, and a wonderful New Year.

I really love this skirt! It can also be worn as a dress, a number of ways! The same goes for this top, which you could throw over a dress, wear with jeans, shorts, over a tank top - whatever. I like that these items go a long way.

Birthday Suit

Skirt: YDE; Block Top: Pure; Polka dot tank top underneath: Foschini; Shoes: Sissy Boy; Bag: Prada - Birthday Gift from Husband; Jewelry: YDE & Gifted

This is what I wore on my birthday. It's slouchy and comfy. A thin belt would have given more stucture, but it was my birthday and I didn't want to wear a belt, ok? ;)

Thought I'd post this outfit today, because it's my birthday week (hehehehe, yes I'm prolonging this birthday). Tonight I go to dinner with good friends whom I haven't seen in years! I really am looking forward to a good catch up.

Thank you to my colleague Smanga for these pictures.

Thank you for coming by.
Have a lovely weekend!
